Current state of works. Estado actual de las obras. Moulovibazar Project

Today we want to offer an overall view of the current state of the works in Gyasnogor (Moulovibazar). With the help of numerous sponsors we are constructing three buildings simultaneously:

1. The Brothers House, almost completed thanks to the contribution of Aid to the Church in Need

2. The Boarding for girls, foundations completed, is currently a jungle of columns of iron and bamboo waiting for the cement to cover the ground floor. All of this is done with the help of Manos Unidas and Marist Solidarity Australia

3. The proper High School, whose works just started. We are at the level of excavation and laying foundations. Misean Cara, FMSI and Kindermissionswerk are helping us in this part of the project

Many thanks to all those who daily are interested in this project that will promote education of the sons and daughters of the tea plantations workers in the Moulovibazar - Sreemongol area. And many thanks to those who contribute with their wishes, their prayers and their money for this dream to become real.

Hoy queremos ofrecerles una vista de conjunto del estado actual de las obras en Gyasnogor (Moulovibazar). Con la ayuda de numerosos sponsors estamos construyendo tres edificios simultáneamente:

 1. La casa de los Hermanos, ya casi terminada gracias a la contribución de Ayuda a la Iglesia Necesitada

2. El internado para chicas, cimientos terminados, actualmente es una jungla de columnas de hierro y bambú a la espera de echar el cemento que cubra la planta baja. Todo ello hecho con la ayuda de Manos Unidas y Marist Solidarity Australia

3. La escuela secundaria, cuyos trabajos acabamos de empezar. Estamos a nivel de excavar y echar los cimientos. Misean Cara, FMSI y Kindermissionswerk nos están ayudando en esta parte del proyecto

Muchas gracias a todos los que se interesan a diario por este proyecto que intentará promover los niveles educativos de los hijos e hijas de los trabajadores de las plantaciones de té en la zona de Moulovibazar y Sreemongol. Y muchas gracias a quienes contribuyen con su recuerdo, su oración y su dinero para que este sueño se convierta en realidad.

Refuerzos. Reinforcements

Our community is being enriched little by little. A couple of weeks ago, we have received reinforcements. Brother Virgilio Bwalya is now a member of our community. During the school’s construction works he will teach English to the children at the parrochial school in Sreemongol, as well as to the students of the small Caritas technical school. Welcome, Virgilio. In the picture we took with a family in the village of Phulchora, he is the second from the right. As you can see, our community cannot be more international: three Brothers from three different continents!

Nuestra comunidad se enriquece. Desde hace un par de semanas, hemos recibido refuerzos. Se trata del Hermano Virgilio Bwalya, que es desde ahora un miembro más de nuestra comunidad. Mientras duren los trabajos de construcción se va a encargar de dar clases de inglés a los chavales de la escuela parroquial en Srimongol, así como a los alumnos y alumnas de la pequeña escuela de artes y oficios de Caritas. Bienvenido, Virgilio. En la foto que tomamos junto con una familia del poblado de Phulchora, es el segundo por la derecha. Como puede verse, nuestra comunidad no puede ser más internacional: ¡Tres Hermanos de tres continentes diferentes!

Today we would like to be grateful. It’s said that one good turn deserves another, and we believe that it’s time for us to thank in this blog the many financial aids that are coming to us, some small, others big. Many of the contributions correspond to private donors (a certain number of whom don’t want to be named), others are institutions, agencies and NGOs. To all, our gratitude, our prayer. Our journey and experiences are teaching us the effort required to obtain funds in the current international context of financial crisis; therefore we appreciate even more the help we have received and that still to come. To all, thank you.

Hoy queremos agradecer. Dicen que es de bien nacidos ser agradecidos, y creemos que es hora de que en este blog nos hagamos eco de las muchas ayudas financieras que nos están llegando, unas pequeñas, otras grandes. Muchas de las contribuciones corresponden a donantes privados (un cierto número de ellos/as no quieren ser nombrados) y otras a instituciones, agencias y ONGs. Para todos, nuestro agradecimiento, nuestra oración. El camino recorrido y las experiencias vividas nos están enseñando el esfuerzo que se requiere para obtener fondos en el actual contexto internacional de crisis económica; por ello apreciamos aún más las ayudas que hemos recibido y las que están todavía por llegar. The seven colors tea. El té de los siete colores

What you see in the picture is a wonder only available in some bars at the Sreemongol area. It is a seven colors tea: each layer with a different color and made with different varieties of tea (black and green) and with a different preparation (with milk, lemon, cinnamon, ginger, clove). And it is delicious. Something that we will offer you when you come to visit us!

Esto que ves es una maravilla sólo disponible en unos cuantos bares en la zona de Srimongol. Se trata de un té de 7 colores: cada capa es de un color diferente y está hecha o con variedades de té diferentes (negro y verde) y con una preparación diferente (con leche, con limón, a la canela, al jengibre, al clavo). Y es delicioso. ¡Algo que te ofreceremos cuando vengas a visitarnos!

For a few days, we have had the pleasure to welcome Paul and Gueri, who have taken to heart our project and have come to see it in situ. Paul has written a book entitled "I hate vegetables' (No me gusta la verdure) whose sales will come entirely to finance the construction of our school. We have had a great time visiting the construction works, as well as some primary schools we are collaborating with. Intense days, full of surprises, smiles and fond memories. Thank you, Paul and Gueri, for your support.

Durante unos días hemos tenido el placer de acoger a Pablo y Gueri, dos personas que se han tomado a pecho nuestro proyecto y que han venido a verlo in situ. Pablo ha escrito un librito titulado “No me gusta la verdura” el producto de cuyas ventas va a venir íntegramente a financiar la construcción de nuestra escuela. Han sido unos días estupendos, en los que hemos visitado los trabajos de construcción, así como alguna de las escuelas primarias en cuyo sostenimiento estamos colaborando. Días intensos, llenos de sorpresas, sonrisas y buenos recuerdos. Gracias, Pablo y Gueri, por vuestro apoyo.
