Run, crawl, climb, duck, jump for something worth.

Thousands of people gathered at the end of August to take part in the popular Spartan Race at a remote farm in Barre, Massachusetts. This would not have much importance to us except that this time among them was a small team of one teacher and four students who were racing for us! It was the first of such races for them, so, not knowing ahead of time what to expect, they learned the hard way, step by step of the 5 mile course filled with challenges and obstacles, which demanded stamina, determination and strength. They crawled over bales of hay, climbed fences, ducked under barbed wire, plunged into streams and jumped over smokey, smoldering hay. Finishing was a major accomplishment, no matter how long it took; for our boys, it was 2 hours and fifteen minutes. Like all the other runners, they were covered with mud and sweat at the finish line. They took the "punishment" willingly to raise money for our new Marist high school in Bangladesh, St. Marcellin High School. They definitely have poured sweat, blood and tears into this new school, which will owe them a lot. Thank you Eric Boucher, Ryan Ferrara, DJ King, Richard Hardy and Michael Horak; your names are not only recorded in the Spartan Race, your names are also written in the book of our hearts in Bangladesh. And special thanks to you, Brother Rene Roy for being the soul and center of the group!

They got name, family, and personal stories. Tienen nombre, familia, e historias personales

Their work is worth more than the salary they receive. They are the builders working on the construction of our future school in Giasnogor. It’s been already a year working WITH us, not FOR us. We have almost come to be a family and on many occasions they have behaved as a family with us, especially in times of need or difficulty. They are earning a salary, but the work they do is more valuable than the money they get. For us they are not only builders, now they have a name, a family, and personal stories. I wish this to be an advancement of the good spirit that we want to establish in the school when it will be running.
